This absurd moment in history
It will certainly remain etched in my memory
Shrouded in a veil of sadness
And walled in by rage, frustration, and unease
Maybe I'll have better luck
A simple piece of paper gives me a different status
But we are the same—brothers and sisters from the same continent
The orange beast has risen
It lashes out in all directions
With their claws stained with hatred, racism, and arrogance
It chains you down and sends you back into helplessness
He calls you a criminal
To you, who works from dawn to dusk to earn what you have
From his mountains of dollars
They don't care about your needs
They strip you of even the hope of a better future, which is all you want
I share your helpless sob
And my joy fades away in your sadness
And I mourn your departure
I know that justice will prevail
It will grow stronger, it will become mighty
So that the cowards who mete out injustice may tremble with fear and fall.
