Cornelio Campos’s “Northern Reality”
The Mexican artist began painting at the age of eight under the town’s municipal pergola with a local teacher who gave art workshops to the local children. In 1989, he arrived in Los Angeles and eventually moved to North Carolina, where he currently resides.
In May of this year, North Carolina Governor Ray Cooper will present him with the “Heritage Award,” which is awarded by the State Council of Arts and Sciences.
