Of streets that end where the night begins,
of waiting, which the very act of waiting makes seem eternal,
those are the days that stretch into months

Al despertar(me)
todo el silencio del mundo
a mis pies descalzos.

Los árboles casi
impúdicos posan sus brazos
sobre hombros ajenos.
AUSENTE[S]
Los llamamos ausentes porque nos duele pronunciar sus nombres.
Los sabemos lejanos porque han desocupado los espacios
comunes y deshojado nuestra piel, mostrando la carne viva
engendrada por aquellos que una vez nos ayudaron a caminar.
